Holon Law Partners Welcomes Rita Dienes, Esq., CIPP/E, AIGP — Strategic Transatlantic Data Privacy, AI Governance & EU Regulatory Compliance Counsel
Holon Law Partners is pleased to announce that Rita Dienes, Esq., CIPP/E, AIGP has joined the firm as Strategic Transatlantic Data Privacy, AI Governance, and EU Regulatory Compliance Counsel.
At Holon, we believe that great legal counsel is built on connection, between people, disciplines, and, increasingly, borders. Rita’s arrival reflects that principle in action. As businesses on both sides of the Atlantic grapple with the accelerating collision of artificial intelligence and data regulation, Rita brings the kind of firsthand, on-the-ground expertise that can’t be taught from a treatise.
Bridging the EU–US Regulatory Divide
Rita’s practice answers a question more and more of our clients are asking: how do we bring an AI-enabled product to the EU market without walking into a regulatory minefield?
She advises multinational businesses on the full arc of that challenge, from classifying and risk-assessing AI systems, to auditing data processing architecture and automated decision-making components, to shaping the documentation and product design choices that determine regulatory exposure before they become enforcement problems. Her counsel doesn’t stop at the initial roadmap; she stays engaged as client products evolve and as EU regulatory frameworks, including the GDPR and the EU AI Act, continue to develop, with the goal of making EU market access predictable and cost-efficient. She also supports EU businesses and investors navigating their own expansion into the US market.
A Rare Vantage Point
What sets Rita apart is where she learned this. She spent six years embedded inside EU institutions in Brussels during the negotiation, adoption, and implementation of the GDPR — including direct work on the legal analysis of compliance failures and breach determinations, and involvement in the legislative processes now shaping Europe’s digital governance landscape. That means Rita doesn’t just know what the regulations say; she understands the institutional dynamics and enforcement posture behind them — insight that is difficult to find and invaluable to clients operating at the EU–US interface.
